Seems like tubifex worms often is the main carrier of parasites and what nots... So any suggestions on the best way to "disinfect" them? So that the tanks are not affected? Culture our own?

And also am I right to say that marine parasites cannot survive in fresh water, so brine shrimps are the safer live foods to feed to our fishes?

Yes, that's what I read... Brine shrimp is the saver live food for our freshwater fishes...
Because just like you said, marine parasites can't survive in freshwater.
I never gave my fishes other live food than brine shrimp... but of course it takes more effort to prepare the brineshrimp...
