Hi guys,
Would just like to ask if apistos are compatible with other community fishes? Example, tetras, danios, rasboras etc.
Compatibility in the sense that no biting of tails and injuring till death. Dont mind if apistos don't breed. I'm asking as I have ember tetras but would like to introduce some apistos, like veijeta red etc.
What are the less agressive types?

yes, apisto can mix with other community fishes. That what i do. I have Veijeta with tetra, oto, golden pencil, rockt pencial, sparkling guramin, so far nothing go wrong. i have mix community fishes with caca , tri, aga before, all ok.
They are able to mix with most other fishes except for their own kind. Male apistos will fight with other males apistos and even rams for territory. Do not have more than a pair of apistos unless you have a big enough tank with good amount of vegetation.
Smaller shrimps will also become prey to these fishes.

I'd used tertas, boraras, platies as dither fish with apistos with no problemsthe smaller shrimps tends to end -up as snack for apistos.
...I love rubies too ...
