Healthy looking. But somehow, I prefer the regular ones to the balloon or long fin variants.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

how to tell btwn male n' female. I still can't see the difference apart from the feeling that the female is duller in colour. Does female rams have the vertical black bar running across the eye.?

female rams got this pinkish color on the belly when ready to mate...

from my observation (correct me if i'm wrong), when they are under shade, hiding, they turn pretty dark and their dots/glow shine like mad... when they are out swimming, under lighting, they turn paler and sometimes, the vertical bars aren't obvious.

This is my personal view on balloons. I would seriously like to know why there are people who actually like ballooned fish. Their internal organs are being squashed together in order for their body to achieve the unnatural balloon shape. Their swimming abilities are affected somewhat as the swim bladder is one of those organs affected.

Anyway, no offense, the above, as I mentioned, is just my personal view. I would prefer the original Rams much more, anytime.

Loohong: IMO, ALL rams are beautiful... their body + shimmers... and I really like it when they can remain so stationary in the water... also, when the males fight and 'flare up', staring eye into eye, jio-ing for fight that time... very beautiful!

Justikanz: heh heh heh... talking about ballooned bodies... besides these Rams, think i find the others odd 'ball' ... esp. ballooned mollies?!?!?! yucks ...
