Did a test on the limewood airstone just now and did not find it up to its mark when compared to the ADA diffuser. The bubbles are slightly larger in size in comparison.

Terence, I can't say for sure it's 100% effcient in fine CO2 bubbles production, but so far from what I've seen for myself and others, as well as hear-say along the way, it's quality is much much better.
I was actually trying to get some views here before I take the plunge for one myself.
Of course, another plus point is that it's really cool to have the ADA diffusor in the tank.![]()
But I will like to know the performance of the limewood airstones, particularly it's usage life.
Studying the water chemistry and nutrients is a science.
Knowing what plants to get and how to use them is an art.
Aquascaping is a marriage of art and science, the logical and emotional.

My ADA diffusor do clogged over time!
Question here is when you guys clear it with bleach, do you dilute it first?

Yes, I pour bleach into a container of water where the diffusor is soaked in.
Does bleach spoil the ADA Diffusor in any way?
Are there cheaper and simliarly effective brands?

Well, unless you have much dough to spend, the normal diffusers are not that bad. Just take good care of the water current which is use to push the bubbles around into the plant beds.

Pardon my ignorance Peter, can elaborate on the current thingy? To blow & force the co2 bubbles down instead of floating up?Originally Posted by PeterGwee

I use a cermaic diffusor too, and is placed near the 2028 rain bar, which is installed vertically. The CO2 diffusion is not too my liking as the bubbles tend to be big and rise too fast to the surface. I split the CO2 line to connect another line to a Duetto internal filter, installed at the other side of the 422 tank. The CO2 bubbles are much finer.

hi, i've just bought a ceramic diffusor and finally got it working. This question is what i have in mind too.. is placing the ceramic diffusor next to the filter inlet makes it more efficient? I'm actually thinking of placing it right below the filer inlet, so tht the CO2 gets sucked into the external filter...Originally Posted by Ah_ZhaN

hi people,
where can we get the ADA diffusors? any LFS selling this brand of diffusors? =)

it would be better to place the ceramic diffusor next to the filter outlet. this allows the outflow to push the co2 bubbles around the tank.Originally Posted by sage08
placing it near the filter inlet is ok as well. however, do note that co2 bubbles may accumulate in the canister and may occasionally 'burp', causing guggling noises.
