    can japonica be harvested? if yes how?

    what do you mean by "harvest"?
    why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

    U propagate it the same way you do to a stemmed plant. It actually grows like a stemmed plants although it looks like a rosette plant. Just pinch off a bunch, remove the bottom leaves and insert the stalk into the gravel. Make sure you have bottom ferts as they are quite a heavy bottom feeder.

    i dont exactly get it...for one stalk, i cut of the stem and replant it?

    Many new daughter plants will branch out from the base of the mother plant. When the daugther plants are of reasonable size, you can cut them off from the mother and replant them.
