You can try this for a start:

    KNO3: 1 teaspoon 2 times a week
    KH2PO4: 1/6 teaspoon 2 times a week
Lushgro Aqua/Micros (someone help here): 2 times a week according to prescribed dosage

You do not need the rest... unless you see nutrient deficiencies (holes in leaves).

CO2 is important, get it to 30ppm and above. Increase your lighting to 10 hours. Do a weekly 50% water change instead of 20%.

The above is assuming you have a moderately planted tank (at least 50% of tank is plants).

Hmmm... would a regime of just Lushgrow A and M be sufficient? Last time when I was at NA, Mr Chan said that KNO3 and KH2PO4 is not really necessary....

You meant REGIME. A REGIMENT of fert would be so spectacular, olfactively speaking
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

If you have a CO2 enriched tank, you most definitely need inorganic dosing of KNO3 and KH2PO4 unless the tap has plenty. I'm not sure of your tap water NO3 level but given the range can be pretty wide by PUB (0.5-15ppm), you are better off dosing and covering all your bases. PO4 is definitely needed as our tap has virtually nothing or too little.

Thanks Peter, thinking of heading down to NA later to get them.

For a 2ft tank, could you recommend the weekly dosage of LGA, LGM, KNO3 and KH2PO4? Many thanks.

Consider using the KNO3, KH2PO4 and a better general trace mix like Tropica MasterGrow or Seachem Flourish ...not really into LushGro micros. Check out the Estimative Index Article at the BarrReport which should be viewable to normal members.

    Hey Peter,

Have read the article. Got some questions that I hope you could help me with.

Seems to me that I can trash my LGA & LGM and just go on a mix of KNO3, KH2PO4 and a better trace. Darn.... don't want to put my investment in LGA and LGM into waste. Perhaps there is someway to use up LGA and LGM before going to pure KNO3 and KH2PO4?

For the 2 chemicals, how do we confirm the number of teaspoons to get the right ppm?

Correct me if I do not understand the EI correctly, with ample light and 30ppm of CO2, overdosing will not cause algae blooms? If that is the case, could I go lazy and dump the week's requirement of nutrients into the tank during each weekly water change so that I do not have to dose them daily?

Appreciate your help and thanks for your time.
