    Hi.. everyone! I just joined this forum recently =)
    My 1 foot Moss tank...
    Just set it up an hour ago; hope it'll grow

    (the driftwood kind of fills up the whole tank... no space..hehe)

    I decided not to put fine sand/gravel, cos it's much easier to clean the tank floor without the gravel... just threw in some pebbles... btw, there's no CO2 injection too...

    Any comments/suggestions are welcome =)

    <Tank Specs>
    Tank Dimensions : 30cm x 19cm x 19cm
    Lighting : PL 13W, 6400K.
    Filter : Hang On Type
    Fertiliser : Sera Florena + Fish Poop

    <Plants>
    Moss Wall : Christmas Moss
    Moss on Driftwood : Spiky Moss

    <Fauna>
    3 Leopard Corydoras
    2 Mountain Minnow

    ps: How to I make my photo show up full size in my thread??

    Bare gravel for such a tank is fine. You could also spread moss around the bottom and let it grow into a natural green carpet. But for a non-CO2 not too brightly lit tank like yours, I would stop all fertilising and rely just on periodic partial water changes or top-ups. In fact, you can do with no water changes altogether, just replacement of evaporated water. If you get algae problems, lower the lighting period to control algae. I would suggest not more than 7-8 hours of light daily.

    Thanks 3es! Will try the [img] tag when I have new pictures

    taz_boy --> Bleach Fan? lol...
    Maybe I'll try CO2 injection during the holidays.. wants everything to grow fast!

    Btw, i noticed something-->
    some of the new growth and older leaves of the mosses turned white/pale-yellowish/transparent...

    Is it because of nutrient deficiency or overly strong lights or lack of CO2 or don't know what..?

    Red face Mini-Update after 1 month...

    Hi ppl, some updates...
    Switched to low maintance tank without DIY CO2...

    Changed filter to Eden 501 (great filter!),
    added DIY fans, taiwan moss lawn,
    new taiwan moss wall (xmas moss simply won't thrive at 27-28°C for me ._.), some marimo balls, one horned snail, and cherry shrimps... hehe

    Also trying Seachem Excel and Nutrafin NPK (low dose only)...

    The mosses seems to be doing well =)

    btw, the cherry shrimps poop a lot... lots of poop trapped under the moss lawn...

    p/s: sorry about the Starwars cup in the first pic.. used it to top up water =)

    Your tank is looking so wicked! I never thought that a bare base tank could turn out so well! Maybe I should try it when I revamp my tank...

    Red face

    Hee... Thanks all !

    kradeij: from what i observed, the cherries won't eat the marimo balls, other than forage for food trapped in the balls

    Hehe.. kind of hand-picked...
    went to qianhu... then chose all the very red ones...

    btw, i think some say that when it's very red, it's reaching the end of its lifespan... dunno whether my cherries are very old or not... Hope they'll breed.. i see some males and females =)
