Hi, here is my 2 feet... i just did trimming yesterday since growth was a bit out of control...

from the pictures below, i do understand that my aquascaping is not nice. even if u think it is, I personally dun like it

but what i am happy, very happy indeed so far is that... i manage to control my algae by shifting to E.I methods.

with algae under control, i am thinking of rescaping the tank now...

what i have is mind is

I put the DW in the back right corner laying across the tank diagonally... then stuck as many plants as possible behind it...and some of the rotala green in front of it, in the left hand side front corner..

most of the right front side i wanna grow glosso.

on the right side, back, i am thinking of putting the plants currently on the left side (except for the rotala green)...

the red plants (currently on the mid-left back) will either be behind the DW on the right, or ... cannot think...

sorry i apologize for not knowing the names of plants..

If reply is quick, i will go to NA today , maybe getting DW if needed...
    comments are most welcome!!!!

Pic was taken this morning..sorry for the bad quality....

The balanse should go to the right, as well as some other plants. Try to go for a slope from right to left, you've already got a nice buildup on the right.

Seriously the moss wall will take away the look of depth in your tank.

    after major rescaping

    Hi

as promised, here is a picture of the tank..

water is cloudy due to fertilization and setup has been done only an hour ago.

I will put a light colored background with fading effect to it next week.

let me know which of the plants from the previous setup can be put back..but i dun wanna a crowded tank as before...

aim here is to grow hairgrass, which previously i had a lot of problem to grow...

    sorry for equipment in pic....

Less cloudiness in the morning... Most of the residents put back... Too tired to catch the rest the remaining Malayan Shrimps...

    Will update one pic everyweek

Jungle mania.. I understand what u meant.. Haha, i am a fan of Dutch fashion too...but my tank is a 2 feet tank, and I already got too many fishes... and now with my exams coming, i barely have time to trim everyweek.... hence i change to a less maintenance tank...and am trying to get the Hair grass lawn nice this time...

I wll swtich back to dutch style maybe when i get a 3 feet tank...where in the 2 back corners, i will put DW and do a kind of DSTyle, and in betweem with HG or Glosso,,,,etc... but not for this tank

    Troyz:

I am also hoping for the plants on the left to grow...they are still in transformation phase....

You think i should plant more hairgrass??How long it will take to grow

    hmmm.

i think you need to place your wood slightly to the front . i feel that you have placed it too far at the back and you might not have space to plant your stemmed plants.

once the wood is in an "optimim" position, then i think you can start filling up all the gaps for i think your tank is too sparsely planted

    Some updates...after one week..

gregorsamsa..i shifted the wood a bit in front...I could not bring it too much in front though, coz it's tied to a big piece of stone below it...

And I added a few more plants...from feedback it was not planted enough...

The hairgrass seem to have settled down..now waiting for it to grow more...

My Christmas moss...hmm still settling down.... not much grow..but at least not dying... Tank temp = 24-26

sadly this tank has to be "destroyed" in the first week of May, since i am moving to another room in my hall.. I will try not to destroy it if i can carry it by taking most water out (will leave out a few cm for shrimps), all fishes out.... U think this is feasible to do, if u have to carry this 4 floor down by staircase..walk some 50m, + some more steps before you reach the new room.... any suggestion will be welcome on that..

New fauna added : some cherry shrimps, and 4 khuli loaches (dunno if i get the spelling right)

Here is my suggestion. You may need 4 or 5 person strong enough to carry the stand and tank. You will also need a trolley large enough to place the stand and tank on it. For the walk toward the stairs, you can use the trolley to carry the whole setup intact without the water ( up to your discretion ). The journey down the stairs will need all the 4 persons to carry the stand tank intact. This is the most important journey. If the tank tilt too much, the substrate in the tank might move. You do not want that. When you reach the bottom of the staircase, again use the trolley to transport the setup.

    Hope this helps.

Try not to take out the fish if possible... The stress they suffer as a result is quite jialat... Take out 60-70% of the water and then use BFG's suggestion...

    Hi

after a few weeks, here is an update... have to say that pictures not taken at appropriate time..you can see some of the stem plants leaves are already in 'sleeping' mode.. i on the lights 1+ hour after it was off then took this picture.. (time constraint)

My balansea have melted..but still in the tank.. hoping for it to grow better..
Oso, i lost my Co2 reactor, now using diffuser, will switch back again when i buy a new one..
Oh yea, almost forgotten, i switched to ADA amazonia soil (no ps) after i knew that i will be stuck for this tank for long .. since i am unable to keep a 3 feet one... only problem, ph is low, and kh is low..

Have not yet prunned any plants.. still waiting for them to grow a bit higher..

    Comments are welcome

    Yeps...

I notice though that christmass moss grow better in temperature below 25.. 23-24... when set at 25, it does not bubble ..but when set at 23-24, it does...

and hairgrass is a pain to grow if u have 4 loaches.... hehehe..

right now using only 1 light set... will waiting for my friend to bring me back my other light set....coz of the dark places behind...

I think all my plants like lights, except maybe for the nana...

Your tank is looking good and bigger than the 2ft that it is. If you get a few friends to help you then moving should not be a problem, BFG advice is good and take as much water out as possible as a few cm’s left will slush about.

Shrimps such as Cherry are hardy so don’t worry about them. Good Luck
