I have a big bunch of Cryptocoryne wendtii in my tank, 2ft, over 72W of bright light.

I've noticed that in daylight hours, the plant's leaves seem to bunch up and "stretch" upwards.

At night or before lights are on, the leaves are beautifully spread out horizontally in a proper rosette look.

It's like the behaviour of mimosa, when touched it "bunches up", and when left alone it spreads out again.

    Any explanation?

By saying "in daylight hours", i take it you mean as long as the lights are on yes? And not just only during early on when the lights have just come on ya?

Should be the other way round...the plant got his timing wrong. Much like male chicken in Lim Chu Kang which makes their morning call in the evening time

Yes Justin, during the photoperiod and early on when the lights come on. A few hours later and onwards the plant bunches up.

I prefer it to spread out!
