Pardon the poor photography and the diffusor in the middle of the tank cause its the best location for it!

Tank has been up for a few months le... Now just waiting for the HC in the foreground to spread..

Now wondering should I remove all the hairgrass and get more HC to spread all around the tank or I should keep the hairgrass as it is.

Also thinking of buying a schooling fish which can compliment the scape. Current candidates are Neon Tetras and Boraras Brigattae (Pardon if spelling is wrong). Anyone has any other suggestions?

All comments and suggestions are welcomed!

    Tank Specs
    2 feet FivePlan tank
    Filter: Eheim Aquaball 2028
    DIY CO2
Bio-load: Taiwan Moss, Xmas Moss(not doing well), Hairgrass, HC
    10+ Yamatoes, 20+ Cherry Shrimps

That diffusor is just way too distracting and why do you think that is tne best position for it anyway?

You had the setup for months but why is the hairgrass not spreading? I thought it should have taken over the tank by now!
The tank still looks quite bare to me and there's not enough colored plants to contrast one another.

I will suggest Cardinal Tetra rather than Neon Tetra if you really like the red and blue colour of this fish.

Neon Tetras are prone to the Neon Tetra disease and will die "ugly" with distorted spine.

How did you solve the flowrate of E. Aquaball. I had one at home and I cant imagine it in smaller tanks.
As for fish suggestion, I'd buy some paracheirodon simulans or some rasbora hengeli

Your tank looks bare for now!
I think you can add some cheap plants for the tank first then slowly replacing them with HC if you wanna create a HC lawn!
That's wat I did to counter algae!
    Another thing is your diffusor!
Seems like you are using an airstone to diffuse CO2, which I would say effectiveness is close to nil.
The bubbles produced are far too big and would rise to the the surface too quickly!
Would suggest you get a cheap air-stone like diffusor (like Dymax one) and place it under the outlet of your filter! That should help to push CO2 around the tank!

And you need cool water for Christmas moss to thrive!

Keep the hairgrass. You need more plants, perhaps another driftwood to balance out the weight on the right.

I would keep my suggestion on the hairgrass. Especially since your hairgrass is already slowly spreading...

CJ, the fish name is Boraras brigittae, written in italics and the second word is not capitalised.
    Read me! http://justikanz.blogspot.com/

    I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii

that is the best position cause when the air bubble rise then will meet the output of the filter and be spread around the tank...

I also not too sure why the hairgrass not spreading.. recently just begin adding KNO3 and KH2PO4..

yar.. the tank do look v. bare, but i was hoping the hairgrass and the HC will spread to fill up the tank...

I nv did solve the flowrate, however I set the flowrate to minimum and adjust the outlet to face the back wall at 45degree to try to reduced the flow..

can achieve quite a good circulation cause my CO2 bubbles are all around the tank!

will check out the fishes u mentioned

hmmmm... the idea of the scape is for a right-to-left flow... would adding a driftwood makes it into a U shape scape?

had a bad experience with BBA before i decided to redo this tank a few mths back...

*shudder* at the thought of it again.
going to C328 on Mon. will get the Dymax diffusor and hopefully got HC.

I got 2 DIY fan blowing the tank. doesn't seems to be able to cool the water sufficiently for xmas moss, almost ready to give it up le. Taiwan moss on the other is thriving.

same experience with X-mas moss... does not really grow if water is 28-30+. I put it back in a tank with chiller...growth is much much better... FYI, spike moss and mini moss do well in higher temp water..

I would suggest getting more HC and mixing your hairgrass into the HC field instead of having a separation of the 2 like you do now.

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

    hmmm.. thats interesting...
so the hairgrass will be planted sparsely among the HC?

Yup, it makes it look a bit more natural... How often do you see a grass patch in nature that's of only one species of grass?

Now that gives me an idea!!
I should buy some E.Tenellus and mix it in the hairgrass?

Hmmm...there's a few stalk of hairgrass in the HC already actually, 'cause the area where the HC is used to be hairgrass territory until I uprooted them for HC.

Mix it unevenly... give patches of different leaf shape. Riccia is a good plant to use when you want a difference in leaf shape, but then Riccia is a messy plant..
