Btw, fyi, I placed my rainbar at the rear bottom of the tank with output holes facing the top.

Nice!! hope i can achieve that standard too.

Are the plants rooting well? once i get my eden 501, think i will ask your advice on plants. I used to keep tetras, so fish wise i can get by, but plants is a whole different arena.

I went thru my stuff, this is what i got now,

    2ft tank
    ADA Africana soil
    36watt PL lights
    Eden 501 (waiting)
    DW (fren giving me)

Ya, an experience I learn the hard way.

Few years back, I saw an Atman cannister filter selling super cheap at aquarama. so I bought it without much thought. After that then I realise it's actually meant for 3ft tank or above... regret a bit...

Well my planted tank never really get to flourish since then must have been the strong currents...

I tried to slow down the flow by adjusting the outflow valve of the filter, but I think this method might spoil the motor. Just recently the filter's fan blade broke, but I managed to superglue it back. Currently still running smoothly, only with a bit noise.

Now rather then adjusting the outflow valve, I tried heavy planting to break the water current, and wrap a few layer of nylon net around the pipe outlet.

Seems to work well At least I don't see my plants swaying so much now.

Overall even I bought a wrong size filter, I think there's always a way to make it right.
