Is your ghost knife still a baby?

It will stop nipping when it grows because it will eat the whole fish instead...

Sorry, knifes are not good community fish. They do get territorial and are predatory...

The only safe way to prevent the knife from nipping fins of its tankmates and later eating them is to separate them...

Of course, the above assumes your knife's tankmates are not other knives and smaller fish...

No guarantees on that... It is best not to placed with other fish... It might be possible, though... Usually, the knives will be more sedentary as they age...

But do keep in mind that they are territorial...

I had a friend who lost his Neon Tetras to the black ghost knife. These fish are predators.
