Very strong and healthy, caca fries are almost the biggest when they hatched, since they have big red eggs to start with. Congrats. I think my smallest fry which is 40+ days similar to yours... how sad ....
Cheers!

The parents are in a 3footer planted.
Just set up a one footer for the fries yesterday and just transfered some fries into the tank to test water... hope they survive.
Here is the fries tank

Just make sure you add some "mulm" from the established tank to the filter of the new tank and the substrate. Plant heavily and perharps add some floating plants. No nitrogen cycle to kill your fish.

Am just using a thirteen watts PL, intending to do a low tech tank with a touch of zen for the fries, so will not be planting it heavily. Added nutrafin cycle instead of mulm into the tank. Hope that helps...![]()
A low tech or high tech would benefit from heavy planting in the start if you do not want algae issues. "Mulm" direct from an established tank is live bacteria....bottle ones...dormant...haha..which do you want? I rather error on the safe side since its free even.Originally Posted by genes

Hmm... If I recall correctly, this might be from benetay, who got them imported from Hong Kong.Originally Posted by Phillipians

Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Yup, male is from benetay. Thanks to both benetay and wackytpt or else i wouldn't be able to get my hands on this male.Originally Posted by benny

It's not prudent to sell the fishes until they are young adults.

Added in 36fries into the tank...Don't think all survived but still see some of them occasionally.
