It's looking good..
Just did some trimming today.. Cleared out an entire bunch of Didiplis diandra and Ludwigia arcuata..
the arcuata was overwhelmingly alot!!! didnt realise how dense it was until today..
As of now i think its about 70% ready for a photo.. just need some plants to grow and some to be trimmed next week and i think i'll be set..
As of now.. it looks like that..
Tried to move the fish and play with lighting.. guess it didnt work (as much as i wanted)..lol...
Comments welcomed..
It's looking good..
Looks natural and nice...
like in the wild, with bright and dark spots![]()
I have a suggestion for the foreground.... Will it look better if it was blank..and when cleaned it will look nice, particularly with the nana (anubia) leaves falling onto it...make it a semi circle..might even put some small stone with moss tie on them....but not filling the whole foreground,.just place the stones at the edge of it... and u only trimmed the moss when it starts to get on on the blank space too much.... This is my opinion only
otherwise, great tank..
All the best for the coming shoot!Originally Posted by ranmasatome

Thanks Guys..
FM.. All the Best for yours too!!
I think the left forward "hump" is a little messy...maybe i'll trim that up a bit more?? what do you guys think?
I think the right side feels a tad too cramped. The plantes are practically pressing to the tank glass.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Yes ...that i agree... gotta do something about that bolbitis.. its growing like crazy..
See your S.vaillanti?? keke.. so cute hor... got one pair going round and round now...![]()
if the redness plants be more contrast a bit be nice
btw its a great setup, natural and healthy looking, thumbs up
well..the plants are actually really red... i just cant seem to get the camera to show the same exact colours with this crappy comp...haha..
Thanks for the kind words..
Good work ranmasatome![]()
I like the wild-growing look. It's like some beautiful brook.. very nature![]()
Can I ask you, the plants on the right are fastened on some driftwood?
Do you have some tank's very beginning setup photo?

Mick..
Thanks for the comments.. Lets scape a tank when i get around to your area.. i think it'll be hella fun...![]()
V31..
Both the main plants on the right are grown floating.. as in.. not rooted into the substrate.. i've done that for about close to 8mths now and they grow fine.. in fact i find that my plants grow better not rooted..since i can place them at any level of the water colum i like taht way..
Anyway.. jsut for you.. here are some of the previous pictures of my set up...
Its come a long way..haha..
Start!!

thanks for that. I think almost each phase looks great. Most I like for APC one.. goddamned nice!!![]()
I like your foreground and its clearness with no sludge.
As for not rooted plants, I planted part of my micranthemum micranthemoides this way and it seems to work well. What do you think about not rooted HC? I'd like to grow it for my friends but i think it's not good to plant it, then pick it up, give a part to my friend and finally plant it again. Is it possible to have it on some floating mesh under surface and light?

As mentioned V31..i think it grows better not rooted..![]()
The mesh idea is one way to do it.. grows perfectly fine that way.. at least for me.
did some major trimming today... took a pic b4 putting all the regular stuffs back in there... hopefully after this grow out phase it'll look good enough..
Realise that there are 2 dark spots in the tank due to overhanging leaves and waht not... taking note for the external flashes when its time for the contest photo..
This is a good tank. I'll be looking forward to the professional photograph.
Thanks Terence... after that photo is taken.. this tank is coming down once and for all..so i hope to get a good photo b4 that.. at least as a keepsake..
All the plants will be up for grabs..kekeke..
