realised that weather are kinda of warm these recent months, affecting my tank temperature. been using fan for my 4ft tank. temperature can be kept around 25.5-26.4 at night(lights off), day 26 range, and that was previous record.

recently because of the warm weather, tank temperature been on high side, 27 range till 27.9. Wonder do anyone of your(cooling using fan), get uptight with temperature at this range?

personally getting bit worried about my flora, especially moss. so been adding ice cube but thats only temporary. do your just let the temperature be as it is? or am i getting too uptight over it?

Depeding on what moss you are keeping, they should not have problems growing at 27.9 degrees.

Java moss can grow well even in temps of 30 degrees.

My tank is 29.7 (max), I personally thing that you tank's temperature is fine and there is no need to worry at all.

If you want your tank to reach even lower temperatures, I suggest that you get yourself a chiller

having taiwan and java moss, and it is taiwan moss i more of a concern. worried that they will be affected and hence turn brown which i do not hope to.
other flora be java fern, windelov fern, E.tenellus, downoi and mini pellia.

not intend to invest in chiller which i dont require my tank water to be that cool.

grey_fox, what flora you keep? do you use fan? well, guess i just leave my tank as it is, and no worry!

Currently I have Echinodoras tenellus, Java Fern, Windelov Java Fern, Narrow Java Fern, E. osiris, E. bleheri, HG, nanas, vallisnerias, crypts (brown/green) and so far even with that crazy temperature. I am having now, so far so good I guess.

You really shouldn't worry, my aim now is to bring my tank's temperature to your highest (27.9) I have a chiller but not hooked up and no fan at all.

Edit: Please note, for all reader's information, do note that when writing scientific names, the genus name should be spelt out in the first mention. This case, it is 'Echinodoras' for the tenellus. Further mention of the same genus would allow the use of 'E' to replace 'Echinodoras'.

Also, the first letter of the species name should not be in caps.
