Any other tank statistics for example how old it the tank setup? what are the fish? Average tank temp?
I might be as simple as the fish are eating your shrimp?
Hi guys,
i just a little 2ft planted tank with some fishes in there... question is i added 5 yamatos, 3 died... i tried 10 cherries, all 10 died... i change water once a week... i feed them once in 3 days... water is crystal clear... no CO2...
you guys have any idea why?

Me too suspect it could be your tank temperature.
Something to take note is that we are usually not there when the tank temperature peak.
Tank temperature is probably one of the most impotant factor for the shrimps!
Cherry shrimps should do fine in temperatures up to 27C.
hi hi,
the fishes are boraras... too tiny to eat the shrimps... hmmm tank temp can peak at 29deg... so that is what's killing them? but avg temp is around 27 28?

IMO, 29C is more on the high side!
Maybe you can add fans to help bring down the temperature!
i've added a fan... temperature is now at avg 26... just now i just saw 2/10 dead cherry shrimps i bought yesterday...
any advise?
tank setup is about 1 month old... little DW (driftwood) with moss on them, foreground plant is tenelus... ehiem liberty filter with many many bio rings... 24W PL lights on for 5 hrs a day... no CO2... weekly water change... doseage of K and flourish and ADA step 1 brighty after water change... pH 6.5...
what did i do wrong?
Edit: Please check your spelling...

try to keep your temperature low, and meanwhile monitor your shrimps for another week or so, and probably update us again!
How do you acclimatise them? I acclimatise my shrimps over at least 10 hours using this method
Am surprise why your shrimps die so easily. I bought 10 cherry 2 weeks back, so far lost 3 ; 1 on arrival, 2 others due to temp peak when I forgot to bring them in-door.
Put them in a small tank 1' X 0.5' (see 1st pic). As can see from pic, no filtration or CO2. Change 50% of water daily, replace with old aquarium water. Daily feed 1 koi pellet plus a little algae scraps from my pond. Temp maintained ard 28C.
1 week ago, found 50 babies in it. Now another female carrying another bundle of eggs.
Photo is too blur to make out what it is.
