Is it true that UV light can made the cardinal or green neon looks even better? Will the UV light affect the plant? Has anyone tried?

I tot UV light causes a thymine reaction in DNA, i.e. cell mutation and death in micro-organisms, and mutation/cancer in higher creatures following prolonged exposure. That's why there's the fuss about the loss of the protective ozone layer. Gee, if you can see UV light, I'd worry for your eyes.

i think what DIA means is those pink fluorscent lights which many fishshop owners refer to as UV.

so do many LH owners and aro owners too.

i guess if the LH experts are using these "UV" lights to sunbathe their fish, I shouldn't protest. I certainly can't afford such luxuries for my little longkang fish.
