I will go for Hikari!
Trusted brand!

Hi all
Would like to start a poll on what type of fish food are you feeding your fishes with in your planted tanks.
I will start the ball rolling, I feeding them with Tetra Guppy flakes, but its kind of difficult to find and rather expensive these days, thinking of changing to other alternatives, any good recommendations?
Regards

Understand that friends come and go,
but with a precious few you can hold on.

I only started Hikari recently... My fish simply love Tetra brand stuff... I usually mix food together so they can have variety in 1 feed, they will go for Tetra stuff first and then others... The last thing they'll eat is Ocen Free stuff... I used to have almost the whole Tetra series in my cabinet... Like my Seachem 'collection' now...
Forgot to mention, for guppies, you can try the micro pellets (Zeng Bao Hong) from Hai Feng.

I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii
Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...
Tetra has a very strong smell, think is garlic... Hence my fishes love Tetra stuff too... I do feed them Hikari freeze-dried tubifex as treats...
Frozen bloodworms and New Life Spectrum micro pellets when I see the darn container laying around.

Hmm... Somehow I think it might be better to have this in AquaTalk... Might have more response... jhseah, hope you don't mind, I am shifting this thread to AquaTalk.

i feed live foods and flaks.
fish apparently have a highly developed sense of taste.
so you can't really fool them, they know the good stuff from the rest.

It is a good day to die!!!
I finally uploaded an avatar and Cupid is dead!!!
i feed some chinese brand...haha...as long it is food they eat.
Sera viformo... (has a very strong fish food smell... lol)
no particular reason why i choose this...
just happen to buy this sinking tablet for my cories..
also feed the other fishes with this too, cos it disintegrates and fills the whole tank with tiny specks of food...
I feed my four lionheads Tetra - mostly small feedings though, and they gobble them all up in seconds.
The plastic container for the food isn't so good though as it flexes easily. Initially for the first month or so, the container must be handled gently. If you hold or squeeze it too hard, upon opening the container cap, all the pellets will spill out.
What is a lionhead tetra?
That should read - I feed my Lionhead goldfishes Tetra (the brand) Tetrafin fishfood.
Just to share, I personally find that if only on prepared food, the colours of the fish just couldn't reach those that are fed on a high live food diet. No reference to any brand, just observations along the way. Colour, finnage and growth just ain't there. My 2 cents JH, you might want to try Hikari. Value for money. I've also tried Tropical, Sera and those taiwan, china brands. As food they are ok but if you are looking for something extra.....anyway that is my personal opinion. I try to feed live food every 2-3 days.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.

celtic, where'd you get that info on taste? Might explain why my bettas will literally jump to take the food out of my hand. And i mean my little 3cm pugnax jumping 6cm out of the water and taking the worm from my finger. So proud of him
That and why does live/frozen food appeal to them more than sayy... ocean frees' "super plecorys"? I usually feed a mix of both but i end up with EVERYTHING in the tank fighting over the frozen bloodworms
I mixed a cocktail of Tetra bettamin, Momizi pallets, Hikari algae wafer, Japanese CRS food, spirulina powder, freezed dried bloodworm and Teramin baby in a small container. Faunas are oto, SAE, various types of tetras, Tiger Endlers and yamato shrimps.
I feed Sera spirulina tab (the green once where you can press and stick it to the glass tank) for my plecos and they ABSOLUTELY love it!!! Not only that, all the other fishes will also go to the tabs to eat it! I've fed Hikari pleco wafers b4 and the respond is different cos when i feed Sera spirulina tab even the very shy plecos will come out of their hidding to eat which i don't in the hikari. Now i only feed my plecos with Sera!
I also used to feed my fishes from my other tanks sera bit but have recently changed to New Life Spectrum after hearing alot of praises from hobbyists at other forums. I've noticed that after about a few weeks of feeding, my furgetas and tiger platys' colours are STUNNING!! They just brings out the Best in my fishes!! It's a pity i don't have a digital camera so can't share with you guys.
Artificial daphnia powder(ADP) for small fishes, Hikari Carnivore pellets for larger fish and Hikari Algae wafers for the shrimps & plecos.
As much as I can, I will supplement with live food of varied choices if possible.
sorry may i know what is brineshrimps?
