If I were a fish, I'd BREED all Day!
The first addition is a must have book if you're even remotely interested in Apistogramma species. The book covers others such as Nannacara sp. but it's most devoted to Apistogrammas.
Can't wait to pick this book up. Now just have to find out where I can do so.

Ibn, where was the first issue printed, if it's in the UK i should be able to get very easily if it's EU should still be able to get it.

I'm not quite sure. I'll check my copy to verify when I get home.
I sent David Soares an email and he confirmed that Volume 2 is heading to the print shop this month.

So.... is it time for another Group buy?Cichlid Atlas 2 is a highlight for the friends of the Neotropical Dwarf Cichlids. This extending second volume of the Natural History of South American Dwarf Cichlids contains a completely renewed scientiffic key to the species of the genus Apistogramma, which are the main topic of this book. Extensive information on evolution and biogeography, ecology, maintenance and breeding, as well as on determination of female and juvenile Apistogramma-species is given. Numerous drawings, comprehensive distribution maps, diagrams as well as 80 pages of supplementary bibliography are completing this volume.![]()
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

But you guys going get the book? Then what will happen to the 1st version then since this new version will most probably covers what's in the 1st.

Heard from reviews that it is an extension of the first edition, not a reprint, so what ever is in the 1st book will not be repeated. So it is still good to have the 1st book...
And the book is printed in Singapore. Probably cheaper to get from the distributor? Anyone with the contacts?

Mergus should be distributed by AcroAsia. Let's talk to Green Chapter to see if they are willing to do a Mass Order for us.

Check with AcroAsia at Sera Centre? They might have an idea...

Heard that this is being printed in Singapore itself.
What is of interest in the book is the descriptions of 4 new Apistogramma and erection of the new genus Ivanacara for Nannacara bimaculata and N. adoketa.
Römer, U. & Hahn, I. (2006): Ivanacara gen. n. (Teleostei: Perciformes, Cichlasomatini) – a new genus of cichlids fom the Neotropis.
Pp. 1190-1197 in: Römer, U. (2006): Cichlid Atlas Vol.2 Natural History of South American Dwarf Cichlids Part 2. Mergus, Melle.

Pp. 748-763 in: Römer, U. (2006): Cichlid Atlas Vol.2 Natural History of South American Dwarf Cichlids Part 2. Mergus, Melle.

Pp. 636-660 in: Römer, U. (2006): Cichlid Atlas Vol.2 Natural History of South American Dwarf Cichlids Part 2. Mergus, Melle.
Römer, U., Pretor, P. & Hahn, I. (2006): Apistogramma huascar sp. n. - Description of a dwarf Cichlid (Perciformes) from Peru.
Pp. 524-567 in: Römer, U. (2006): Cichlid Atlas Vol.2 Natural History of South American Dwarf Cichlids Part 2. Mergus, Melle.

One that is of interest to me is A.huascar, which is for A.sp 'Sunrise' and A.rositae, which is for A. sp 'Harlequin'... And think both these species reached our shores before last year when Azmi brought in one pair (?) of A.rositae...
As for the rest, haven't read much about the others...
Yah... Seems like the entire series of Mergus is printed in Singapore.
