This is my new 5 litres nano tank. Used one of the betta containers to plant. It's with CO2 tank but I have not started to inject CO2 because I have not thought of any CO2 hungry plants to add. The other container is the DIY cannister filter with Biohome+ and Mr Aqua biorings. Light is 11W. No base fert. Just insert some Root Monster. Plants are nana 'petite' and lilaeopsis brasiliensis (if I am not wrong) on Dennerle gravels.

Comments needed on how to make it better.

Just MHO, the CO2 canister looks sleek but overkill for this set-up.

On the scaping, the dennerle gravels looks too big in the front, I would replace the these areas in front of the wood with finer substrate like river sand or lapis. More Anubias species on the back and some x'mas moss near the wood.

Front can be bare with river sand or you can try the new japan hairgrass.
    ...I love rubies too ...

Both of your plants in your tank are not CO2 hungry and I think you should keep it that way. I agree with Fei Miao, the canister looks too much of an overkill.

OK. Thanks for your comments. I will move some of the Japanese hairgrass from my another tank there if they grow more. Do you think having stringy moss planted on mesh in the middle is good?

regarding the lapis, I think lapis just slightly smaller than my dennerle gravel. Is those fine sand #0 that is used for marine suitable?

I also agree with you all. That's why I have not inject any CO2 in until it is necessary in the future when I have CO2 hungry plants.
