Hi to everyone i'm intendind to do a scaping with mm as foreground and with some long hair grass behind. Are there any way to restrict the growth of the hair grass to a specific area that i wanted? One way i could think of is to use acrylic to partition the gravel so that it doesn't grow out. Another way is to keep removing them during WC. Any other ways you guys out there use? Thanks...

The partition will be visible, and I don't like artificial stuff in my tank.

    I'd religiously trim every week.

Yes partition will be visible, you can add rock and wood to hide the edges, though I never like partitions also, I would rather do trimmings and maintenance to keep the hairgrass in check.
    ...I love rubies too ...

i used transparency to create partition for my glosso and rotala..kinda works as the sheet is thin as paper and hence not visible compare to acrylic.

u can try get a few sheets of transparency from bookshop to try. Works for me.

Actually i was thinking if the hair grass will grow over the partition and the same problem surfaces again. The only problem with regular uprooting is i'm afraid of disturbing the gravel and thus causing the fertiliser to come out as well.

If you do the uprooting with your water changes, shouldn't be a problem. I once uprooted base fert big time, but I did a big water change after that and no problems.
