They are inactive and not likely to jump from the look of things really. Are they gasping or breathing normally when "sitting" on the substrate?

They are breathing normally when sitting... Got the timid look... Dorsal and caudal fins are not clamped...

If your tank is small then i think its okay take a bit here and there from your other tanks to set it up. So taht everything you use is old stuff..
mulm in substrate, old filter media, old water..

usually for my quarantine tank i only have plain inert gravel... many rocks/ useless left over wood for hiding and an internal filter with carbon filtration. then i add about 1/4 old tank water and the rest will be water from the bag, of which the fish came from. Then Drip acclimatisation.. until it fills the quarantine tank..after taht i leave them for about 1 week.. then i do 50% WC and add tank water, of which the fish will go to next.. 2 days later.. i move the fish and empty out ALL the water in the QT and give the gravel a rinse.
That resets the entire system. which doubles up as a acclimatisation and a QT.

Michael, alot of products under aquamedi at C328 and Polyart... But none seemed to be under the name medicated salt... So can you let me know the exact name to look for?

How's the fish? Getting more lively or still "sitting"?

    Hi Peter, just an update,
the fishes are swimming normally now... Males are chasing each other while the female swims about by herself... So should be alright...

Btw, Michael, is the Aquamedi product OxyCure? Read somewhere that it is a medicated salt...
