Guys, This is my current setup:
tank--> cheap sponge filter modified to act as filtered intake ---> eheim 2260 pump --> C0500 1/2 Hp chiller --> external reactor --> rainbar at rear bottom of the tank........
I also have 2X 2028 running on both ends....
problem is the initial setup was ok with good flow and such... but noticed the flow slowing down recently and my sponge filter clogged up pretty fast...........
So i need a long term solution for feeding relatively filtered water to my chiller and ext reactor....
Any suggestions?
Just a comment! Why dun u send the outflow of one of ur 2028 to ur chiller? is the flow rate too fast? i guess it should be okay rite....chiller anyway need a moderate flow rate (not too fast not too slow) to work better...i guess 2028 is good enough for that, since its flow rate is about 1000 l/h

You mean having the modified sponge filter at the surface will make it clog less?
well, you can consider using one of you 2028 unpowered. remove the impeller as well. use this 2028 as the filtered input to your 2260.

guess its because most of the waste are at the bottom of the tank, and that the surface of the water is relatively cleaner.
