Recently my planted tank got infected with hair algae, after read some article here, notice that Yamato shrimps is good to 'kill' hair algae, so i decide to introduce some Yamato into my tank.
But, 2nd day i see my plants, Yamato is chewing the leaves till holes everywhere on the leave, there are killing my plants instead of get rib of hair algae.
what am i need to do now?
I doubt they would do that unless the plants are in bad shape or dying. Yamatoes do help but then the main work has to be done with the aquarist. (trimming/cleaning and correcting of conditions so that it does not come back again.)

If the leaves of your plants are brown and dying...I will expect the yamatos to try to eat them...
from my experience, my yamatos do not touch my plant
No, the plant is healthy plant, but they eat it.
Are they prefer to attack this plant?
Not sure if that is an aquatic plant....doesn't seem like one.But then I may be wrong as I can be very bad at plant ID.

Hmm. Looks like an E.quadricostatus. Soft and juicy leaves. Yummy...
But still Yamatos don't attack plants for no good reason. Unless they are really starving.

maybe u are rite, they are very hungry til eat whatever they think can eat.
ok, i will try to feed in the algae waffer, monitor for few days.
