What i've found out myself is that higher temp like 30degrees and above the spawns are usually small but when a storm hits the front, the temp drop below 30 which is always a good sign which u can take note.
it's usually a change in weather patterns that induces the spawning of apisto.
So whenever a storm hits for a few days, you got a good bet that the fishes will spawn, what i do to even induce them to spawn is to change water before the storm hits us or even on the day a storm hits.
usually after a WC and good feeding, the pair will spawn in a matter of few days.
my Fastest record for which a pair spawn is 5mins after introduction of the male to the female. I believe this method works for me but it doesn't mean it works for others please do not come jumping on me when it doesn't works.
I've an aga pair which refuses to spawn even if i do everything for them. Sometimes it's just the pair...you have to give it in to them.[]
Cheers!
Benetay
yeah!! some pair jus wouldnt breed, no matter what u do []
Hi, I don't have any apistos, but I read somewhere that when you do a WC with collected rainwater, they will spawn. Thats because in the rainforest of Africa, Apistos spawn after a downpour of rain (but the rain must be directly from sky, cannot drip off builings or roof).
Anyone tried it b4? Effective?
kekekeeee... I think benny tried that method.. I believe, a water change is the same... I once raise my rainbar so it sounds like rain![]()
I see, thanks, cos I thought rainwater is softwater, and combined with CO2 in the air forms a weak carbonic acid, should be ideal for Apistos.
