    I love this tank!
Is it possible to achieve this effect without a chiller?

It's not so much a question of wheather you need a chiller. But wheather you can get the temp to 26 without one. Or if you can get this effect above 26 degrees.

Simply put... No you don't need a chiller if you can keep the temp down without one. My chiller-less. fan-less tank runs at 25 degrees all day. Aircon

To me, with chiller or a tank in an air conditioned room, what difference does it make?

I was hopeful for a more well thought answer
Anyways, thanks for reminding that an air conditioned environment works the same too.

During the cooler months, most of our tanks were around 25/26deg.

Fan is good for smaller tank, the reason I use chiller because fan too noisy...and moss prefer cold water.

Most important is to keep your water condition stable than most of the plants will grow well.

no leh... I just collected back my $$ from him. so won't upgrade at this moment. wait till he got his chiller first or I found another good offer.

You have budget should consider Pacific Cool brand, local product, easy to find spare part and quite good too...

Steven, must drop by your place again to see this wonderful tank. I have not seen this new 5ft of yours yet.

Are you upgrading your chiller? If yes and you are getting rid of your existing one do let me know anytime. My friend is looking for a chiller.
