Sanyo Batteries

Been reading in ClubSnap that there is a problem with leaking Sanyo batteries... So any idea if new purchases now at shops will have this problem?

Thinking of getting them for my flash...

I'm using energizer ones 2500 also...works fine...anyway OEM from Sanyo but it's easily available at supermarkets.

Definitely recommended for flash. Otherwise, it's money down the drain for batteries at the rate the flash drains them out.

Benny, you referring to the Sanyo or Energizer?
Btw, Energizer 2500mHa is also rechargeable?

I think both are fine. Currently, I'm using Sanyo batteries.

if u have any problems, sent an email to Sanyo SIn and they would glady replaced any defective batts.

i have 16 pcs replaced.

16 pieces replaced? that means the dud rate is very high?

wow. Do agree also, the failure rate seems too high for my personal comfort. Imagine, you'll still have to travel there to get them replaced. Really too much hassle for my personal opinion

I got my batteries changed few weeks ago. According to the Sanyo engineer, as long as the batteries are bought from the bigger shops, they should be the newest batch of batteries which have already been fixed... So no more discharging problem...

When buying the new Sanyo, just check that the batch is 06 instead of 05...

my earliest batch all kenna-ed...about 20 pieces...like 3 flashes...the batts flat liao...

I didn't go thru sanyo for replacement but thru one of my more trusted shop....

I had the same prob..the charge in the battery cant hold vry long...The batteries are probably 2yrs old by now.

Can i get it replaced ?? Hehe...

hmmm... just went through all my sanyo batts (about 20pcs of 2500).
the code is sequenced "05-XX 0A" XX varies from 01 to 11.
i suppose my is the old batch but haven't had much problem with them although they do discharge.
anyone has an idea what a reasonable time for them to hold a decent percentage of charge?

No harm trying, but the batteries seemed to be batches from 2005 production. My brother's 1 yr old batteries were replaced. He went down with 8 batteries. They tested them (not sure how) and replaced 4 of them. Those that were not replaced were of a even earlier batch than those replaced.

well I'm going to ask again. does anyone know where one can dispose of used batteries properly? I have a lot of 2CR5 Lithiums as well as some rechargeables.
