Why trash the scape and redo??
Hi guys, some of the guys were asking me what happened to the tanks that I bought during the outing a long long time ago. Well, here they are before I trash the scape to do up new ones.
Bought this 2x1x1 feet tank at C328. Java moss, taiwan moss, nana petite, hair grass and e tenullus. It's home to three yamatos, one dwarf puffer and five bumblebees and of course, lots of snails to keep my puffer smiling.
Bought this 2 x 2 x 2ft tank at Lor Halus I think. Riccia and java moss, some nyphae micrantha in the midst of the moss, e tenullus and hair grass, and giant hairgrass. Home to 15 yamatos and 3 cherry shrimps and one GAE.
Got this 3x2x1.5 ft at a steal from a old friend. Mostly ferns, riccia, e tenullus and cowgrass (submersed form, not too sure about this, fish uncle said so). Having major problems with this tank as it is considered cursed. Water forever cloudy and problem is likely that one of the rocks contains high content of calcium. Brace just got detached two days ago. Sighz sighz sighz.

because see sian already...haaa...just want to try other styles of scaping...make it wilder...more natural...have been observing streams and rivers and see if I can make a wilder scape.
I like the third tank, very natural .Replace that cursed rockIMO if you can hide the pipe and equipments for the shot, that would be great. What fauna you have in there?...and what's cowgrass... any close-up shots?

Cow grass is like kind of grass that grows everyone locally. They actually can grow submersed too as I have noticed during my last trip with XnsDVD.Originally Posted by Fei Miao

Dunno the scientific name for it, but they sure grow damn well in the tank!
Yeah I am going to remove the rock pretty soon and probably some changes. I will post the close ups when I shoot them later.. in like ten minutes..
Well, I have Java fern, windelov, riccia, hair grass, e tenullus, caixin (thats what they call in the LFS, do they belong to the Anubias family?) and the so called cow grass...all bubbling..so whats lacking is really just the water....sighz...
Here are some close ups for my third tank.
The whole chunk of ferns there, thinking of replacing them, to java ferns, the non windelov kind. The space where the skimmer is will be covered by more plants, currently a rock is on the bogwood to keep it from floating.
The suspected cursed rock that is causing all the cloudy water problem. Should be correct because that is the only rock that has lots of biosludge on it.
You can see the collection of the "caixin" and some java ferns. Riccia are bubbling even under the cloudy conditions. Water temp is 29 degrees. E tenellus and hair grass propagating like mad.
You can see the so called cowgrass? The browning leaf? Anyone knows what its called? The leaves melted and they now look like this:
bro, what did you tied your riccia to with?
I tied them to garden pebbles, the coarse surface type and with the green netting that you can buy at hardware shops.

No lah...its not about the free book. I think its a occupational hazard, if it does not even pass my expectations I will not whack competitions lah...if set up newbie competition I join!! hahaa...really not up to standard yet cos I know more can be done for the tank.
the tank looks so cloudy but good photography skills though.

perhaps the scape will look better if you replaced the rocks with granite rocks. probably the greyish rocks will contrast better against the lush green scape. the current rocks really doesnt do justice to your garden.
