Previously when i bought some plants from someone, he shared some info with me regarding plants absorbing nutrients. But i couldnt seem to find any info about this.

"It goes like this, high nutrient absorbing to low absorbing plants range like cabomba to java mosses. Right. But the jess here is that he told me that the first to absorb the nutrients is the other way round from moss to cabomba. So we require to supply more nutrient to cabomba if you want it to grow taller as it is the last to absorb nutrient" <-- is this statement true? Does anyone have any website info about this or knowledge to share?

By the way, I cant seem to find any website that says what type of plants needs high nutrients and which is not. So i assume stem plants are high nutrients and crawlers are low nutrient?

    You mean:
    1) Cabomba is a high-nutrient requirement plant.
    2) Java moss is a low-nutrient requirement plant.
    3) Java moss abosrbs nutrients first, then cabomba absorbs nutrients.

About the above, if what I understand is true, then your friend there probably confused you.

If for example you have a tank with only Cabomba and Java moss. You have to provide enough nutrients for the fastest growing plant in your tank, which is Cabomba. I think the stuff about Java moss absorbing nutrients first before Cabomba is... weird.

Typical "low nutrient requirement" plants are java fern, java moss, anubias nana, etc etc.

All plants can be grown in "high nutrient requirement" environments. The plants mentioned above are special in that they can grow in more harsh conditions.

IF waht squee is saying is what you want to say then all i have to say is...
    its totally bogus!!
if 2 plants are in the same environment... what is there to stop one plant from absorbing nutrients AT the same time as the other plant??
What which is first and which is second.. total crap.

I had the same thought as you when that person told me about it. But because i have forgotten the whole thing he told me which is very long ago so I give the benefit of doubt there.

This is over generalisation. Plants need all the nutrients they can get to grow and most of them store a large amount of nutrients in their leaves to grow. I believe what your fren meant is that some plants require more nutrients to grow well while some plants only need littel nutrients to grow. As for which plants absorb nutrients first, I agree with ranma, total crap!!!
