that's certainly not very ethical of them to do that. And it was a rather lame answer by them on the Made in Taiwan thing.

Well, it seems likely that block 328 is fast becoming a LFS Alley then. Such a high concentration of shops in one small area.
Just one more question: is the 5 plan tank glass or acrylic? Just curious so I know what kind of material not to use to scrub the tank wall if ever. I've been told it's glass, but it looks and weighs like an acrylic tank.
I believe from the description of the bottom of the tank, it is a 5-plan tank, right?
If that is the case, don't worry... It is float glass (so sounds like acrylic)... You can use those soft washing wool to scrub your tank...
The new shop at C328 seems to be a marine shop... Which is good... Since the other shops deals mainly with freshwater... With the exception of Polyart...
Update: we went down in mid-afternoon to talk to the uncle, and he willingly exchanged the tank. Only thing was that there weren't another identical one, so we exchanged it for a 5 plan 2 feet that had a slightly higher price tag. We were also having some problems fitting in the two plastic struts for the 2 feet Atman lighting, so the uncle did it for us, then help choose a new fan for the setup. In total, he spent around 45 minutes helping us set it all up - the two lighting fan struts were slightly oversized, so he had to work a bit to get the struts in.
The final bill - he didn't charge us for the tank upgrade or the Oyama replacement paper for the background. My wife was very impressed with how helpful the shop was.
We've since setup the new tank; hopefully this tank won't leak (so far it hasn't). Thanks all for your inputs again.
Just a sidenote...its always wise to test a new tank for leaks before setting it up. Its easier to get water out then all the substrate/fish/plants out later.

If I'm not wrong, the marine lfs is another branch of Harlequin Marine. It's main store is undergoing renovation at the moment.
