Both are beautiful. The newer aquascape brings out more of the driftwood.
How about using another driftwood covered with more Windelov Fern on the right to block the filter pipes?

Thks for both of your comments & suggestions ! Think I'll let the Sag grow taller than decide whether to switch to Val. BTW Val usually don't grow well in my tank. The last time I had both Val and Sag and the Sag gradually invaded the Val territory and won. But you're right. Val has a softer and more flowing appeal. Its just that this bunch of Sag had been with me for 5+ years and I hate to part them : (. (So is that red lotus).

Adding another driftwood sounds good too. I think it allow me to mingle the layout without unrooting too much. Had been doing large scale water change each time I reorg - water bill getting high lately.

As for the ADA I will give it a miss this round. Being rusty after idling too long - looking at the number of posts here the standard are really very high! (Juggler had an excellant one, also the 'Autumn Dance' should win too.) I think quite a numbers in AQ will snatch the top prize!.

6 May 06 Updates :
Added another DW to the right plus some more fern.
Will be adding some orange tint stem plant slightly behind the red lotus, and hopefully the Sag wil grow taller to fill the background.

hee...hee..Actually if u look down from the top the ET lawn is quite "botak" - a few bald spots and gaps here and there.
They have not rooted enough to spread out yet. I just planted a lot to begin with. During the first 2-3 weeks some keep un-root and floated up. Now they slowly settle down no more unrooting and can see more new leaf start to form. Once they start to spread will be really nice.
I am taking the advice to add some NO3 and PO4 to see if it helps. My CO2 is the limit (2 DIY bottles) though, got to watch the brewing cycle. I just bought some Brewer Yeast to see if it is better than Baker Yeast.

Almost 1 year now :



Hairgrass took over the E. tenellus lawn. 'Windeløv' ferns offsrpring cover over the driftwood - a noticeble result by fan cooling the water surface. Peacock moss lives up its name.
Still keeping E.I method weekly and forgot when since I last measured the water chemistry.

BTW, still the same school of fishes - they last long in such heavenly garden.
