As mentioned earlier, keep the tank as it is now and not add more fish. The puffer will surely find your shrimps yummy.

When the shrimp population grows, you will find your snail population begin dwindling. This is because the shrimps can get to the food faster than the snails.

I think tonight, i must go catch out my puffer and transfer it to another tank. maybe my cherries would have a better chance of breeding too

I hope your tank is going to be ready soon. Just curious about what type of fan you are using. Also, you can use a turkey baster to suction waste as well as snails and their eggs out of the tank.

I do not like the idea of using a puffer. Since I have read in some threads that puffers are unable to get those snails that hides. So once the puffer fish gets taken out after no snails in sight, snails will come out and play again. Not a feastible solution if u ask me. Since juggler mentioned that once the shrimp population grows, will reduce the snail numbers. I will try that as well. Thanks for the tip!

It is simular to a large medicine dropper with a rubber bulb on top to suction and expell liquids and juices. It is used to keep meats moist and wet when cooking. Cost about $1. Please let me know what type of fan you bought.

This is another trick that involves using a piece of vegetable in the tank to get the snails to come feed on it. Then you can just remove the piece of vegetable along with the snails on it If you try this tell me how it goes.

to Kemp... i bought my fan at C328 .. it's called Jebo.. really tiny fan.. but very noisy. can i know where to buy the turkey baster? would love to get one.

some updates.. i gently clear some dead leaves in my tank.. also bought a packet of hikari crab cuisine to feed sparingly. .just discovered there are actually 6 shrimps left.. . hahaa.. .

anyway.. i will be going bangkok soon.. . have saw some aquatic plants at chutuchak once.. wonder if it is feasible to buy them back to Singapore? my tank has no CO2....

or are there anything that I can buy back from Bangkok for my shrimps?
