I heard a lot of ppl keep siamese tiger as tankmate.
I'm planning a planted tank for an arowana. Starting with a juvenile arowana. Need some ideas for some tanks mates other then the usual algae crew.
Not too large, as I don't want my bio-load to go too high. And of course non-destructive to plants.
Was considering clown loaches, cos I saw a nice school of them in a bare aro tank in somebody's gallery, but read that they are not plant friendly.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

a 40cm fish
nice size not too big not too small
Channa Pleurophthalma
doesnt care abt plants...will in fact hide among them at times.
i have it with my aro
does great.
Fish with low bio load are boring.
i dont think you have much choice, and they will not be good tankmates for aro in the first place. Size issue.
my aro has a pet cichlid with it, helps in training it to eat pellets by competing for the pellets []
I would like to throw in a stingray. but would not do for a planted tank.
my ray died from disc curl
no cause found
no cure found
i have ray phobia now []
clowns are very fond of plants
who says they're not plant friendly?
they like plants so much they kiss them all the time []
Yeah, DEA, they kiss them so hard, the plants get 'love bites'. []

dont think clowns will damage plants.
i had bad experience with clowns.
Big fish tried to eat clown, clown spike came out. End up big fish choked and died, clown also died.
another clown dug into the meaty head of one of our goldfish and tore out chunks of flesh with the spike.
so i will only keep clown loaches in species tank or with non predatory fish that are fast
