Last saturday trip was another bad trip ....for my car. The gravel road to the interior of Padawan is worst than my expectation. At least twice that I had to reverse my car to the foothill after my car stuck in the middle of a hilly road.....
There are too many waterfalls in sothern Sarawak and it is impossible to visit all of them.

Er (local guide) is collecting Gastromyzon for me. He told me that local people called this Borneo sucker fish as "Ikan Batu". (means stone fish)
Gastromyzon ocellatus - water temperature at the site is 26.5 degree Celsius. Water PH is 7.

Weevil is a species of beetle. (Sitophilus sp. ???)

Pitcher plant. Probably N. x kuchingensis???
A female guppy (Poecilia reticulata) found in the stream. This is an introduced species in Sarawak.
Juvenile of hill stream catfish. (2cm long) Probably Glyptothorax major.

i'm working on the weevil, but that family is SO HUGE!!! and sometimes if not often hard to identify. Actually i dont even know if this is a true weevil (Curculionidae)..
is the antenna straight or elbowed?
