Need help on my peacock moss, it is growing but it not in its usual x-mas shape and very thin. structure looks very broken.

the peacock moss tie on a DW in a 2ft tank, the lighting is one 55W PL tube, C02 is 1 Bps, temp is 28 deg with fan when light on for 8 hrs and 29-30deg during no light/fan off.

Anyone can advise how to bring the peacock moss to its full glory?
Is it the lighting(increase wattage) or temp(must go 24/7 fan) ?

Try increasing the CO2 more. How's the water current in this tank? If you can see the moss swaying very slightly, it's good enough.

No liquid ferts? They help... The temperature could be lower too.

agree. Your temp seems abit high for moss to grow well. Try running 24/7 fan on

KWLee, why not remedy your problems steps by steps. get the temperature, CO2, fert dosage correct, which low temp is one of the main requirement for moss.
Guess your moss be flourish then.

next are you intending to keep shrimps in your tank, ie; crs, cherries, tiger...etc?!?! if do, suggest to remove SAE. Anyway, cherries are a good algae eater which i kept. and ever since i removed SAE, my cherries started to breed. And my experience is that once SAE grow to a certain age or size, they kind of retired as algae eater , more fancy in fish food, or bloodworm which i feed to my fishes.

don't worry, your moss be flourish when your condition are met, cheers!
