A warm welcome to AQ.
Perhaps you can input more details here - what plants, what brand of substrate?
Also are you using a pair of tweezers?
Better if you can shoot a picture.
I'm sure you will get better response if you follow my suggestion.
hi bros, i have a i.5 ft tank. just purchased a 10 kg pack of gravel from (lfs. those brown small stone type) the uncle say this kind is very good and don't need fertilizer. so when i got home, i rinsed it with lukewarm water and began putting it in my tank. the problem is that i can't insert the plant into the gravel. the sand all seem so lose. whenever i try to insert the root plant into the gravel, it will just float up again. have tried doing so the whole morning. so i think i really need some help. can also can anyone tell me when can i add my cardinal and neon tetra into the tank. would appreciate everything bros... thanks...

the brand is Aquaclay Ground. bought it at the lfs beside c328. i nv use tweezers and dunno how to use it either. i am also not sure of the name of the plants. Below is a picture of my tank last time. before changing the gravel. used to be some sand which i got from my friend. then the uncle say this kind of sand ph level very high. so ask me to buy the gravel. then now i'm stuck le. yesterday was so sad, broke my old 1.5 ft curve tank. got crack then water leaking. now using my bro's 1.5ft tank temporary. thanks for the quick reply. pls help...
aiya.. bro.. i nv upload the pic online. u got msn? maybe u can add me at [email protected].. this way i can send u the pics.. also faster communication. thanks bro..
bro, r u telling me that your planting your plants into your gravel with bare hand?
Not a very good idea. You should plant either with a tweezers or if your tank is small one just like my, a pincer will do the job just as well

yea i'm using...
ooh... I never used metal ones before.. too expensive..
but plastic ones do the job just as well I think...
great!
kendrick, maybe you can also adopt the same idea, using the plastic tweezers. Definitely going to make your planting job much more easier![]()

First of all, what plants is kendrick trying to plant? Different plants can be planted differently...
We chatted through msn. He's trying to root some Cabomba.![]()

You've told him how to plant them then? Strip the bottom part of leaves and insert at a slight angle...
His first planted tank. I told him to go for a pair of tweezers first! He will need it in this hobby!![]()
He's using normal lapis and I suspect that he might not have enough in there. As in not enough depth.
