    hi,
you can get them at most NTUCs. they are meant for land plants.
i've use jobe sticks and horti tabs in my tank with much success.
have never tried horti sticks though.

There are a few types of these sticks or pellets. They have different N-P-K ratio for different types of plants (ferns/palm, flowering plant, etc...), but can't remember which is for which.

I will go for the highest K ratio one.

One advice in using these sticks/tabs. These contains quite high Urea/NH3 as N source. Once placed in the substate, try not to disturb it. The sticks/tabs will get soft and marshy, if it gets into you water, you will have a headache.

If somehow Urea/NH3 gets into the water, do a big water change otherwise chances is that you may get GW or outbreak of algae.

the N:P:K ratio for the jobe stick is 13:4:5
if i remember correctly. think the horti ones
have higher N than jobe. that's the reason why
i didn't try the horti sticks.

    must have read wrongly.
anyway, both jobe and horti have 2 kinds
of stick fertilizer. so be aware of what
    you are buying.
switched to the tabs as they doesn't disintegrate
    as quickly as the sticks.

I've always had the impression that Jobe sticks were for terrestrial plants only. I found Jobe Sticks for aquatic plants the other day at Far East Nursery along Thomson rd.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Hi thanks everyone for ur replies, looks like this horti sticks is not a sure fire way to fertilisation though it is relatively cheaper to our aquatic fertilisers. ANyway I mightj ust pop by the Far East Nursery along Thomson Road to get those aquatic sort...just fear that my disturbing the soil would disturb the stick and cos all sorts of problems especially ALGAE...
