Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...
You need to get new healthy plants and plant them properly.

Plant Physiology by Taiz and Zeiger
pardon me saying this, but it does look rather messy.
just 2 cent view.
How come you don't snip the Ranuculus up into their individual nodes and plant them? Think it would be better... The moss now looks weird unlike your 2ft...
Valice:
That's Christmas moss on a big piece of rock... They were blocked earlier and so part of it died... Hoping the healthy parts will grow to take over the dead parts...
Will seriously consider trimming the Ranunculus and replant.
Kemp:
Yes, it looks messy... Darn difficult to plant the Japanese hairgrass and the Ranunculus... Will constantly re-plant to make sure it looks less messy... Hopefully, the plants can root in and look better when they fill in the space...
Peter:
The plants are healthy... They just look messy... Oh, except part of the moss...They were all transferred from the old scape...
