hey guys.. saw these fish at my LFS(cck). although it a really cool fish. he's not been able to sell a single specimen.i think it's cos it does not apeal to the general public. it's sad. i tot they were really neat without any eyes and still being able to swim and eat well. anybody else know anything about these fish. i have not seen them in any other LFS.

yea, scary and weird fish... most ppl will be freaked out by it i guess...

cacamaniac, care to share where's this LFS in cck?

it seemed to me that there are not many LFS in cck, besides qianhu and all the farms, and the one near CCK bus interchange...

ive kept and bred these fish, they can be boisterous and sometimes they can fin nip, they grow to about 3 ins SL, the cool thing about this fish is when they are fry thewy have eyes and over a period the eyes are reabsorbed , when feeding these fish you will see them go into a frenzyto find the food, any foods are taken.
ph best for them is around the 7 mark.

Accroding to literature, future generations of such fish, if bred in light, will develop eyes.

There are are 'eyed' verisons of the same species of fish in the waters not inside the caves...

Very interesting as they will never bump into the tank glass and knows where the food drops...

Hwchoy, the LFF before reaching Gan's FF do have it. It is a cory FF. I've been there before but it was a long time ago.

Hmm... Last time, quite a lot of LFS had them on sale rather regularly... Maybe you can ask C328 or some other LFS to bring in for you?

ah sorry about that guys i forgot i made this thread

ok the LFS i don't know it's name but i can direct it to u

get to Choa chu kang Bus interchange. walk to the bus driver's Canteen direction and exit the interchange.. continue walking till you see the fruit stall.. you should see an LFS across the road but that's not it.

cross the road at the zebra crossing and walk past the Photo/clothing store. then there would be a few hair salons and there it is. the owner is one Frienly chap.

you cant miss it.. it's beside a Playground

around 35 pieces there.. all doing well.

I had 2 of these fish long time ago. At first was kept at the community tank but after sometime, find that they will give a nip whenever they contact in the tank including other fishes. Also they need slightly longer to find food, they need to be kept in tanks without fast eaters that grab most food floating on top. So had to keep them in a species tank. Seems they find food by smell. so once food is drop into the tank, they "sniff" around the bottom of the tank and nip any food bits that sank to then bottom. Quite an interesting fish though I never quite able to accept its look. (Adopted the fishes from a friend that had introduced cichlids into the tank which are too aggresive towards these blind fishes)
