why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

that is common.. once you've got the hang of mounting insects you'll realise that they are actually very resilient.. no worries.. at the most break one leg.. but i doubt it.. if its been dead for less taht 4-5 days.. its safe... at least when i do it..haha..dont be scared.. jsut go for it.haha.. then if break at least you know how hard to push next time. its a learning process mah..

oh.....can i use super glue , if i broke the legs??![]()

well..if its not for identification purposes and you just wanna have something in your collection to look at.. why not?

I never know you guys are into collecting dead insect as well.

I have a Trogonoptera brookiana on my wall...
Actually I am more into dead stuff than live ones....I've just started to collect TURTLE SHELLS. Takes one week to process from a fresh dead turtle, but not done by me.

Turtle? I would prefered them alive anyday! However, if they are already dead then, why the heck not.

Yup...since I was 10 years old, I already started to collect butterflies, then other insects. I even kept a horned-frog in the freezer before. (my mom was not happy to see a frog inside the freezer & asked me to take it away) But now, most of the butteflies specimen already donated to my school. No more room to keep those insects except some rare & beautiful species still inside my secret room.Originally Posted by Nonn

This happens to herp ppl very often.....I saw one fella's PYTHONS & MONITOR LIZARDS collection in the freezer simply because he doesn't know how to process...lucky he stays alone so there's nothing else other than the "specimens"....Originally Posted by kuching
