I would like to get 2 Clown loach (Botia Macracantha). 6 Corydoras (no idea which type yet but no too expensive) and 6 Glass catfish (Kryptopterus Bicirrhis). They would be staying with my rummy noses and white cloud mountain minows. Any one got comments on the fishes above to be kept together? I think they should be ok.

They all would be housed in a 2 ft low maintenance planted tank, now having big nanas, singapore moss and Cryptocoryne undulata. Hoping to get some hortwort and more crypts to fill up the tank more. Would like to keep some cherry/Malayan shrimps in there. Anyone can comment on the above fishes with the plants and shrimps? I think they should be ok too.

Thanks ranmasatome. Just found out the clown loach can grow pretty big in size. Have to kill the idea of keeping any. I am wondering if keeping cory and shrimps are ok together? Scare that these 2 would be fighting and end up killing each other since both stays at the bottom of the tank. Anyone kept shrimps with cory before? How is the experience?

Your clown loaches will love your shrimps...

And when they grow big, they will also love fish of typical tetra size and shape... There were reports of them munching on such fish... especially before they start getting the mood to some breeding activities...
    Read me! http://justikanz.blogspot.com/

    I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii

Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

Thanks Justikanz and densagoku for your feedback. Did not know that those loaches can be so fierce and even eat tetras! Looks like this is one buy that would never take off, unless I keep it with some bigger or going to be bigger mates but I don't think I would be doing that anytime soon.

I think I would be replacing the clown loaches with my kuhli loaches instead. Got 4 of them now living with some guppies and 2 malayan shrimps. I think I would proceed to rescape the tank but leave out any new fishes for now. Later then decide what other fishes I can buy.
