These pictures are from the second Suriya River survey. We went full-team this time, and managed to get atleast 5 new species and 1 new family record for Thailand and very much likely a few new fish species not known to sciene. Better yet, the Orchid team also discovered a new species of orchid not known to science on a lime-stone hill next to Suriya river. Un-known orchid is a little more difficult to come by compare to fishes as it has a much larger public interest. The forest in this area is UNESCO world heritage site and receive full protection from the government. You need a permit to enter this area hence, these fishes are save here!

This is the links to all the images:

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Hi Nonn, It's a beautiful place and protected! I saw someone flyfishing in one of the picture. Did you get anything? Any big and predatory fish over there? Thanks for sharing

The fly fishing guy didn't get any thing, he was trying to get the larger specimen of the stripey barb in the first picture, which was Hampala salweenensis.
