Errr... not expert, but...
I think usually go by litres. Best thing is to go down to a shop that sells most of the sizes and then ask them to show which is what. A few places to try is Nature Aquarium, Petmart and Aquamart.

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Thanks
Normally what size do they have? what is the smallest? 2 ltr?
c.y. dun get the smallest but get the biggest u can fit into yr cabinet (if u have one).. smaller mean u have to top-up more often and the price is the same
Simon,
Just to clarify... you mean top up cost the same, right? The cylinders still price by size.

but this is a 2nd hand tank, I need to know what size is this to judge the price.
Big one I think is 5 ltr. right. How much?
for an automated system with solenoid a 5l steel one will cost around 260. while the 2.3l alum one will cost 240.
Cheers!

How about with out the solenoid.

If you're getting a co2 set, I strongly recomend you the solenoid version. Yes, it's expensive but after using the non-solenoid regulator awhile you'll want to change it. Frequent manupulating of the needle valve will loose it sensitivity. So it may come to a time where you close the valve, the gas still flowing.
sherwin is right... fully agree.... it's a breeze... cos dun have to tune up and down... troblesome and if you add a timer there too la gee better still.....
the timer for the solenoid need to off 10min earlier than lights cos even you off the solenoid, there will be still eoungh pressure CO2 bubbling[:]
also might to on solenoid earlier so the pressure to build up....
hmm: how much can I sell second hand cylinder 2l aluminium, I'm taking of upgrading to maybe 4.99 litres.
and how much would a 4 plus litre aluminium tank cost?
(best place to buy??)
If you look at a cylinder closely ,you will see some code/numbers.......look for ,for example----------------

Hi, all the expert out there
Can tell me how to identify the size of co2 cylinder. Intend to buy a 2nd one but cant tell what size is it.
Thank you in advance.
----------------
V2.0 means 2litre
V5.0 means 5litre
Thanks all the help.
Is there a cylinder at 1.7 ltr. cos the seller told me that it mark 1.7 on the cylinder.
can you tell me where you can refill co2 bottle (5 lt) $20/- terima kasih for your answer
Can top up at System & Control system @ Boon Keng Rd. They do on the spot top up. A cheaper source would be SOXAL but it is a requirement to test the tank first b4 topping up (only once).----------------

Thanks,
But solenoid cost about 100+, Can I on the co2 24 hour at rate of 1 bubble/sec. Then I will get a solenoid when I got money.
if i am not wrong... the fish will knock out co2 over dose in the night.... cos no light the plant will not produce much O2 plus your CO2 gonna on in the night too....[]
this is what i have heard from the experice guys here.....[:]
my 2 cents... GST not inclucded[]
I run co2 24 hours. I put an air pump on a timer, when lights off, timer turns on and outgas the co2.
long run = cheaper. cos the selonoid horror stories i read is that to repair cost the same charge and life time is uncertain..
chris
solenoids are ~30+ (solenoid alone, not inclusive of valve and regulator)
with your dosage of co2 you'll be topping up very frequently as opposed to solenoid users
and i find the solenoid stories, well, sort of an urban legend
i have been running mine for 1.5 yrs, perfect operation from day one
