This centre is a tourism spot as it is the nearest place to Kuching (12 miles south of Kuching) where you can see the wild Orang utans.
Orang utan (Pongo pygmaeus) means "jungle man". It is a species of ape. It is very intelligent, very large (can grow up to 1.4 m tall), tail-less primate.
The daily feeding time for the orang utans is 9.00am to 10.00am in the morning and 3.00pm to 4.00pm in the afternoon. During the feeding time, the orang utans will come out from the jungle (lowland dipterocarp forest) to take and eat the fruits given by the staff of this wildlife centre.

A tourist is trying to throw an orange to this juvenile of orang utan. This intelligent orang utan knows that and it is ready to grab the orange by hanging upside down from on a tree branch.
