Can these plastic green parts of the inlet and outlet be boiled to remove algae efficiently? They won't melt and deform due to the heat right?
I think scrubbing with the flexi-brush won't help.

I soaked the eheim hoses in boiling hot water poured directly out of the kettle but not the hard plastic Tongkats. For those as well as the diffusers, I use H2O2 or Bleach, the former is tidyier but not as powerful as concentrated bleach but the latter requires an time of rinsing with antichlorine added. 10 minutesexposure is normally all I need.
To rid dried hardness deposits, I subject it to another soak in vinegar.

bleaching will remove algae from hard to reach areas.
soaking (afterwards) with plenty of water will dilute the bleach.

use those sterilizer tablets for baby bottles & nipple tips. Works well for me. Bleach works fine, but if not rinsed properly can cause problem to tank inhibitants.
