wow, what beautiful Altums you have. Very nice combination of fishes.
Hi all, finally I have filter out most of the stones from ADA PS and now only left with ADA Amazonia Soil.
I have bought two more 9L of ADA AS to top up for the stones.
Just bought 4 heckel discus from Gan, now have total 6 heckel and 6 altum.
Below are the photos. The 1st one is before the removal of the stones.

personally, i find that your foreground looks abit bare. Maybe it's just me. But overall nice tank. I still somewhat prefer your first pic of your tank![]()
ur first setup is very beautiful....![]()
like it a lot.
Thanks for the comments. The land scape of the first picture have been maintanced for a few months but do like those stones around. Second one have just settled for fews days.
I have tried riccia and hairgrass for foreground scaping and are growing well but I don't like the waste product form along the surface or the gravel. As the riccia thicken, its hard to reach them during water changing.

Hi Ernest,
that is a very nice tank and I love your altums and heckels.
Can you share some of your experience with the altums?
Whats the volume of the tank? And what filter do you work with?
How about WC?
I had altums before, but slow to acclimitise, and sensitive to change.
What do you find them to be most vulnerable to?
(or what do you think is important to sustain them?)
sorry for the loads of Qns,
thanks
Hi Ernest
Great looking tanks you have. Just out of curiousity. Does your angel fish attach the tetras? Thought they are quite agressive? I am still contemplating if I should buy the angels and mix them together with my tetras.
don't worry, be happy
The altums I have do not meddle with the plants. For the past one year, they leave the plants alone but they attacked my cherrysOriginally Posted by mecedesfish

What is WC sorry I do not understand that term.
I bought 15 altum from gan last year, after 3 months I found some worm-like thing on their body. Its white in colour. Slowly it spread to my tetras and they begin to die. What I have done is catch those affectted altum and use a pincher to take out the worms thingy and add medication (tried those that cure worms). The situation is better but than the altum did not grow much and die.
Now the strongest six left survived and they were great.
Initally I have around 100 tetras with the altum but now only left around 50. My altums don't seem to attack them but the tetras will not get in the way of altum so they swim in groups to avoid them. Both of them mix well I thinkOriginally Posted by riccia
