Is that an external filter ? I've a 2 ft tank and quite tired of cleaning internal filter which seems to choke easily with mulms.

My tanks size is 2 X 1.5 X 1.5, for this basket the mounting might not fit a 211 tank (basket length is about 35cm) but there are hooks you could try.

Very interesting innovationI would suppose the basket can be easily 'modded' to fit a 2 x1 x 1 tank by bending the two holding hooks towards each other.
Just a question, why didn't you hang the 501s one at each side of your tank? Costly brackets by Eden as opposed to affordable basket by Ikea?![]()
It could probably be "modded" to fit a 211 tank but the basket itself might be longer than the tank's width, there is a smaller basket available. Not by bending, but by using hooks instead.Originally Posted by cherabin
So far, i am using only 1 filter and the extra space from the basket is very useful to put any items/storage. Another basket on the other side will be considered, if there is any need for more storage space.
Sorry. Side track alittle, 2days ago, i've became a proud owner of the eden 501 filter. It's really good for my 1.5feet tank, no noise (especially important since my tank is in my living room). Small compact. Most important of all, it's easy to setup, everything that you'll most probably need comes inside the package, eg. rainbar, tubing. Makes things so much easier, setup was a certain breeze, took me only 15mins to do so. Great stuff!
Definite a good recommendation for those who have smaller tanks, smaller den 2feet
This is aside from the main topic. You can paste a picture directly by inserting "" before and after the url.Originally Posted by Ssur

i wonder, would the basket hanging on the side of the tank, create extra stress onto the tank? Was worried about that which is why i've decided to put it on my cabinet next to my tank
My exact thoughts. Even with the 'right' bracket...Originally Posted by kemp

My concern too... Now I hang the EDEN on a window grill... It actually is rather heavy... Am worried it might even bend the aluminum window grill...Maybe I will put the filter on the table instead later... Hmm...

I hang mine at the back of my 1.5ft, together with my DIY Nutrafin CO2. Is it really a problem?![]()
Cheers,

The weight of the Eden 501 together with the weight of the Nutrafin canister on the side of a 1.5ft tank? Wow!Originally Posted by baranne

I am by nature, a paranoid person...I wasn't comfortable with the filter on the tank in the first place...

frankly, if i were you, i would be very bothered about your present setup. seems to create too much unnecessary stress on your small tank already.

Ah point noted on the stress on the sides.
Will avoid putting heavy stuff in the basket.
thanks!
Hi,
I kinda realised(i know it took awhile), that HOF are about the same size of an eden 501. So if HOF are widely used, on the side of the glass tank, it should be safe for an eden 501 too.
Just to point out.
SSur,
I beg to differ. I'm having both, seems that the Eden is heavier. But i guess it's just us being too paranoid, seems to feel it's safer to put it on the cabinet rather than hang on the tank![]()
Hi,
Oh, i am also being paranoid, but am trying to get myself out, as i thought some HOF depending on size, would be about the same weight.
Yeah, it would be safer to have it rest on something other than the tank, but i cant find a solution yet.
