How to acheive lighting of abt 100 watt for a 2ft tank? Currently, my 2 ft illuminated by a 55 watt pl e ballast light. All my glosso start growing up instead of spreading...

I feel like buying another 55 watt light set but worried abt the high temp, any gd suggestion?

Beside that, is teco micro enuf to cool a 2ft tank of mine?

    Thanks!

having another light set is a solution. unless you can modify the current light set to add another tube.
you can use fans to cool your tank. a cheap and cost effective solution.

100 watts for a 2 ft tank, will it be too much?? Too much light will create algae problem...

My plant glosso never spread lei, hence increase to 100 watt. I see amano tank spec for my tank dimension with glosso, his also 100 watt hence i decided to use it as a guide lo... hehe

Agree with taygu. 72W (2x36W PL) for a 2ft would have been enough to make glosso crawl. With 100W and if no careful fert regime and co2 control. Algae is going to spread really fast.

what is your dosing regime like? how is co2 injected? what are the dimensions of your tank? 2x1x1 or 2x1x1.5?

i am running a HO 2x24 t5, (the standard reflector, not those parabolic types) with Co2 injected via ceramic diffusor, aquasoil, fan cooled, EI regime. My glosso grows close to the round albeit some spot algae

i have seen setup with your similar specs but the glosso does fine.

2x36 watts is also fine based on previous experience.

if you want to know, extreme high lighting is possible provided the nutrients are there. furthermore, what can be ascertained, copious water change every 3 days is conducted. are you motivated to do so?

therefore, i suggest revealing to us your tank specs before you buy another light set.
