Well, yamatoes would help as does pulling it out manually/trimming it off affected plants/scraping it off glass and followed by a large water change. Now, you need to dose enough nutrients (they came due to insufficient nutrients) and crank the CO2 (make sure it is 30-35ppm throughout the photoperiod other than the lull the first 30-60min).

It is a non CO2 tank...

Yamatoes? Would they harm my Endler fries? I mean, even if there are hundreds of them, that is a not a way to lose them... That's why I am thinking of adding Malayan shrimps first.

I'll seriously think about getting a CO2 tank (+ a standby, = more expenses! *sigh*) and then split between this and another tank. In the mean time, would adding Excel directly near them kill them?...
    Read me! http://justikanz.blogspot.com/

    I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii

Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...

Seriously, I think this was discussed before regarding the effects of Excel on algae... I think it is very much more of a outcompetition issue than an algaecide effect...

If it is a non-CO2 tank, maybe you want to introduce the yamatoes, do a serious clearing of the algae and then do huge water change... It should help...

Stick a tooth brush in it and twist like spaghetti to remove it.
