I think you need to plants to fill in first. Looks too bare for any constructive comments. If it's just for one betta, then it's a lucky fella!
What kind of light hood are you using?
Cheers,

Just click on the photo gallery button on the top right section (with calculator) and then click on upload. You can choose between the respective galleries or your personal gallery.
Thereafter, click on the IMG tag or URL tag and paste into your post. It will come out looking like that.
Hope that helps.
By the way, what brand is the light set? Haven't really seen it around except at Sea View (I think). You can flip it up right?

I still cannot attach big pictures like u did. sorry.
seems the lights has no brand. Got it from Nature Aquarium near Thompson Medical Center.
It's 27 watts. I guess this is not readily available. guess later i will put 24 watts inside. Btw this is an electronic ballast.
Will it be wrong to put a 36 watts inside. or a 40 watts inside. I am not too sure how these things works.

You need to match the electronic ballast wattage to the light tube wattage.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
What happens if it does not match? I mean, is it still acceptable to put a lower lgiht watts in it? or is it still acceptable to put a higher lights watts in it?
which case is allowed without undermining safety or high wear and tear?
Thks in advance
In that case, read this...Originally Posted by AquaObsession

Hi
After a few weeks, i decided to make some changes... added wood,
Flora: Java fern, Nana Petite, Java moss, spike moss, E.tellanus (though the version initially had wider leaves), Red tiger lotus (kept small), Rotala green (i think)
Java moss seems not to be doing fast...Just recently added though...E.tellanus also just added....I initially trimmed to speed up growth...seems to work...
Fauna: about 30 malayan shrimps, 1 otto, thinking of adding more shrimps (CRS or malayan)... this is intended to be a shrimp tank now..
Comments are welcome...
Hm... why stemmed plants in the foreground?
The Lotus will grow too big. I think some more Java fern will be good on the right side of the wood.![]()
why stemmed plants on the rights?
well i wanted to hide the space on the right hand side..the space btween the wood and the glass? there is no other places i can put the stem plant...
Yeps, waiting for the fern to adapt though before i move the... i am also scared the leaves got burnt by my 27watts lights.
lotus will be kept small.. i manage to keep my lotus small in my 2 feet tank... and will do the same process here... I oso dun wanna big leaves...
now waiting for the E.tellanus ( i think - they are the same plants as in the first picture) to spread to cover the carpet...
instead of java fern on the right side of wood as u suggest, i am also thinking of putting normal nana or nana petite...
an update of the tank....
sorry for equipment, thought it was not worth to take them out for the pic, since it is surely not mature enough for a decent photo..

i love the height of your tank, definitely ideal for growing tall-growing plants. Just nice to be on a study table top too.
It's a pity u decided to give up glosso for your foreground, my opinion is that it will looks better.
just my 2cent worth suggestion![]()
i did manage to get the glosso to grow, then i remove it for hair grass, which for me is more tough to grow, hence i am trying to see if i can get a nice lawn of hair grass
bro, are you intending to keep any shrimps in your tank? Do you have any fan cooling the tank?
By having the tank near the window, does it tend to bring up the temp for your case?
placed near window because i have no other places, you might not noticed in the picture, but there is a fan attached on the window pane that blows air in the tank... temperature with fan 28... temp withouth fan 30
Okok.
Does putting near window, any direct sunlight? Does it tend to breed algae eaily for your case?
